A field of 26 players turned out on Thursday with the grudge match between the three little Higgs and their visiting friends proving to be the game of the day.

Mathew, Steven and Terry Higgins huffed and bluffed their way to a huge victory over Greg Young, Steve Young and John McAlister 35-14. Kevin Everett and Arthur Kelso (visitor) defeated Bob Charman and Brian Holstein 23-12, Nico Duynhoven and Terry Davies def Mike Sheely and George Wisemantel 28-20, Robert Hayes and John West def Peter Sansom and James Davison 28-18, Lu Urby and Robbie Bowden def John Andrewsand Luke Doyle 18-15 while Don Mehieloff and Chris Pritchard def Col Beattie and Paul Sheridan 26-19.

A double header was played on Saturday with the quarter and semi finals of the pairs contested.

The father and son combination of John and Jamie Andrews narrowly hung on to defeat Tony Tersteeg and Bob Charman 17-16, Alex Cudbertson and Brian Holstein defeated hot favourites Lu Urby and Vic Hebblewhite 26-19, Jason Cassidy and Aaron Kelly crushed Joe Pfeifer and Phil Walls 29-11, Allan Rose while Gordon Pritchard were level at end 20 with Col Hebblewhite and Bruce Wilson and sneaked home 20-19 (no more Glory Glory for the Rabbitoh pair)

The winners backed up for the semi finals in the afternoon with Allan Rose and Gordon Pritchard quietly going about their business crushing Jason Cassidy and Aaron Kelly 24-11 and the big day took a toll on John and Jamie Andrews going down to the super heroes Alex Cudbertson and Brian Holstein 28-23.

Sunday morning the big final commenced in foggy conditions and it appeared the superheroes Cudbertson and Holstein also had a foggy head only winning two of the first 11 ends with Pritchard and Rose drawing perfectly and remained in command only conceding five ends in the whole game to take the honours 27-10. Congratulations to the winners Allan and Gordon on very consistent performances throughout all games.

The triples nominations are on the board with the first round on Saturday morning being transferred to Saturday afternoon August 8, so get your teams together for this event.
