Delay in play on the bowling green

Gloucester Bowling Club's Thursday bowls got off to a delayed start due to inclement weather conditions which also reduced field numbers and ends played.

Lu Urby, Chris Pritchard accumulated enough points to def Tony Tersteeg, Rob Gibson (visitor) 17-9 to take the winning prize, Mike Sheely, Robbie Bowden def Bob Charman, Col Beattie 17-9, Kevin Everett, James Davison def Vic Hebblewhite, Alex Laurie 14-10 and George Wisemantel, Neville Atkins, Peter Sansom def John Andrews, Bob Jones, Don Meheiloff 17-9.

With a championship free weekend Saturday bowls had a field of sixteen with George Wisemantel, Lorraine Ratcliffe, Joan Ridgeway getting home on the last end 19-17 against Kevin Everett, Terry Davies, Michelle Biggs, Jean Holstein, Steve Kriss, Di Lockwood def Mike Sheely, Del Buckton, Jill Everett 23-20 and Nico Duynhoven, Judy Sheely, Bev Murray def Lu Urby, Cheryl west, Julie Kriss 17-15.

The mixed fours championships will commence on Saturday September 19 with two games to be played and the remainder will be played Sunday so check the draw for your games and times on both days.

The mixed pairs entries will be on the board soon so time to select your partner and Hebby's Day will be held on Saturday October 24 which will be a triples event this year.
