The day was fine and cool after the very welcome rain the previous day.
The event also commemorated the contribution made to Gloucester Vets by Bill Radford who was treasurer for many years and one of the principal workers behind the annual Gloucester Veterans Week of Golf.
Sponsor, Denver Webb spoke movingly about his own long-standing friendship with Bill and his contribution to the veteran golf at Gloucester.
The event was won by Bob Kirkup with a score of 38 Stableford points just a count back ahead of runner-up Bert Newman who also scored 38. The ball competition saw balls awarded to Gai Falla 37, Glyn Rees 37, Steve Kriss 35, Jim Dunn 34, Bruce Fraser 34, Dale Rabbett 33 and Phil Hawkins 32.
Next week's event was scheduled to be a "return match and lunch" with veteran golfers from Tallwoods Golf Club, but that has to be put on the back burner and the event now to be played is an Individual Stableford.
