We extend our gratitude to Mick Kellehear for donating Saturday's trophies for the Gloucester Golf Club. Mick has done some tremendous work around the course over the last few years. He and his enthusiastic band of hard-working chaps have installed many cubic metres of concrete and our clubhouse and course are much the better for it. Much appreciated Mick and we hope to see you out playing more often.
One always knows one has played well when one posts a score of 40 points and our standout golfer this week was none other than A Grader Stacey Groves. Stacey is one of those guys that have been attracted back to golf due to the lockdown of other sports (e.g. fishing). Great to see Stace - you must be verging on a single figure handicap because your scores have been consistently good for several months now.
Next best in A Grade was Chris Murray with 38 followed by Brian McInnes with 36.
In B Grade Brian Osborne continued on his merry winning ways with another solid 38 points. Methinks Hairy might be enjoying this retirement gig - his golf game is certainly the better for it. Doug Blanch, who has also found form of late, was hot on Hairy's heels with 37. In third place was Greg Falvey on 34.
C grade's best was Ryan Yates with a great score of 38. Good to see you playing regularly of late - it is reflecting in your consistently good scores over the past several weeks. In second place it was one of our up and coming juniors Hamish Wakefield who improved by one on his 34 points of a couple of a weeks ago. Gary Peters took out 3rd with 31 points.
Ball Comp: Above players + Wayne Maddalena 35, Kyran Laurie 34, Tony Burnet 33, Rob Moore 33, Bill Murray 33.
Next week is an individual stroke for the Monthly Medal (Arkwood Trophy).
Super Seven results for this week: The scores this week were certainly turned down a notch from the scorching ones of previous weeks. Winner was Greg West with 17 points. Balls also to Chris Pritchard 15, Peter Buettel 15, Bob Kirkup 15, D. Mitchell 15, Bill Murray 15.
Until next week, good golfing.
