The Arkwood Monthly Medal for the month of November went to Brian McInnes. Barney, as most of us know him, has been putting in some very consistent scores of late and this latest win certainly tops off that very good run of form. He had the only nett score in the 60's on the day and his 69 nett secured the A Grade trophy also.
Our B Grade winner was a visiting golfer from the Dungog club. T. Houtsma took home the bacon with a fine 71 nett. In C Grade our 7 year old pocket rocket Mitchell Andrews once again prevailed with a solid 70 nett. Mitch edged out Rick Paff who also had a 70 nett but the countback was not in Rick's favour. The gross winners in A, B and C grade were Paul Blanch 73, T. Houtsma 90 and Rick Paff 93 respectively.
Ball Comp: above winners + Col Laurie 72, Graeme Marsh 72, Craig McLeod 72, Paul Blanch 72, John Herd 74.
Jamie Andrews holed out for an eagle 3 on the 10th hole - nicely done Emu! We also welcomed Nearest the Pins on Saturday - these have been out of play for many months due to CV-19 restrictions but it's great to see them back. A Grade : Jamie Andrews , B Grade: Bruce Fraser, C Grade: Bert Newman. Bert also took out the C Grade long drive and Paul Blanch nailed the second shot NTP.
Next Saturday will be an individual stableford event for the Bi-Rite Home Appliances Trophy. The following Saturday is the Bowden Family Trophy Day and the sheet is almost full so anyone wanting to play better get in now to avoid disappointment.
Results from this week's Super 7s: Winner: P. Patterson 18. Ball winners: Phil Hawkins 18, Paul Blanch 16, Denver Webb 14 and M. Holt 14.
Until next time - good golfing.
