As a result of a collaboration between Gloucester Uniting Church (UC) and Uniting, the trailer was donated to Gloucester UC. The church was able to pass the trailer on in the form of a grant to the Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group (BWNG) to help support the group's community endeavours.
The BWNG, having satisfied its need for the trailer, then returned it to the church. The church identified another great charitable cause with a need for a refrigerated trailer and recently passed the trailer on to the Uniting Church's Frontier Services, which supports communities in remote NSW.
Frontier Services' Reverend Phill Matthews thanked Gloucester UC and BWNG for the generous donation which he will be able to put to good use across the remote areas of the State he services.
Gloucester UC's Bob Tebbet said this is a wonderful example of cooperation and how organisations can collaborate, share and work together to provide outcomes that benefit and continue to benefit not just a few but many.
In the meantime, the moderator of the Uniting Church in NSW and the ACT, Reverend Simon Hansford will visit Gloucester on the weekend of Saturday November 21 and Sunday November 22. He will be a part of a 'meet the people' afternoon tea on the Saturday from 3pm and lead the 9.30am service on Sunday.
