The students came to take part in Karin (Kaz) Tappouras' Bucketts November Run Day held on Saturday November 14 in Gloucester District Park.
"They travelled in with their teachers to attend this event as they study marathon running as part of their curriculum," Kaz explained.
But it wasn't just about the learning for the students, all of them took part in some aspect of the event.
"Some ran the 21.1 kilometres and few ran the 10 kilometres. Isn't it great," Kaz said.
The students were part of a group of around 25 runners that registered to take on range of events including a marathon (42.2k), a half marathon (21.1k) and 10 kilometres events.
According to Kaz, people also travelled in from Queensland, Sydney, Mt Ousley, Taree, Marks Point and Nowra.
There was even a local runner, with Kelly Rees taking on the 10k event.
"I am absolutely excited and elated by the uptake of people attending and visiting us here in Gloucester," Kaz said. "All attendees loved the area."
The events were staggered with the full marathon starting at 6.30am, the half marathon kicking off at 7am and the 10k runners getting the gun at 8am.
It also marked Kaz's 244th 'official' marathon.
Kaz did have an event planned for Halloween on October 31 but it was cancelled due to the weather.
Her next event, the "Bucketts Xmas Run", is scheduled for Sunday, December 13 with 42.2k and 21.1k on offer.
