A superb batting display laid the foundations for Old Bar to defeat Gloucester Bushmen by 147 runs at Chris Dempsey Oval in the Manning cricket second grade competition.

Old Bar won the toss and headed to crease, with the top order keeping the scorer busy throughout the innings.
Tom Kelly was the difference maker at the back end of the innings. He belted an unbeaten 55 from 32 balls (including six boundaries and two sixes). Jye Barkwill was the pick of the Gloucester bowlers with 2/26.
Openers Johny Cornelius (26) and captain/wicket keeper Harry Clarke (36) started well but the side would eventually succumb to Old Bar's bowling pressure.
The side lost nine wickets for for 29 runs and was dismissed for 91.
Dan Ossedryver pitched in with 12 runs with the bat but it wasn't enough to make an impact.
Old Bar's Shane Nash finished with 3/2.
Gloucester remains fifth despite the loss and remain one win behind Taree West and one ahead of Wingham.
Other results from the weekend saw Taree United extend their lead at the top of the table with a six wicket win over Wingham and Great Lakes defeated Taree West.
Winners in third grade were Great Lakes Gold, Taree United, Pacific Palms, Bulahdelah and Old Bar.
