Golf back in swing for the new year

Individual Stableford Event - Club Trophy Day

Happy New Year to all you golfing nuts - here's hoping for a prosperous 2021 with more pars and more birdies.

Last Saturday saw only a few hardy souls brave the sodden fairways with the Gloucester Golf Club.

It's a testament to Rossi, our course superintendent that the course was even open to play given the constant rain we have experienced over the last couple of weeks - not that anyone is complaining.

One of our newer members in Matt Higgins had the best score of the day with 39 points. Good to see Matt stringing a few rounds together - it was only a matter of time for a man with that much natural ability.

Tom Markey also had 38 - also pleasing to see Tom getting a few games in before he heads back to his studies.

Kyran Laurie played steadily to post 36 points Ben Veitch rounded out the top 4 with 35 points.

Ball Comp: Steve McDonald 34, Brian Osborne 33, Jamie Andrews 33, Doug Blanch 32.

NTP 4th-13th N. Body NTP 6th-15th Bill Murray (B), Paul Coote (C)

Long Drive: Ryan Yates (C).

Next week's event is a single stableford for the Fenning Transport Trophy.

See you on the course. Good golfing.
