Brian McInnes and Phil Patterson took top honours in both the four ball and individual Stableford events for the Gloucester Veteran Golfers on Tuesday January 12 on a day sponsored by Di and Steve Burns.

The weather was kind with fine, warm ...hot even...and sunny conditions; the course was in magnificent condition even though it was a tad heavy going in some places.
The winners of the four Ball Stableford were Brian McInnes and Phil Patterson head and shoulders ahead of the field with a combined 46 points.
A distant 4 points away in second place were Mike Howard, who never seems to out of a placing, partnering Bob Kirkup for 42 points. Vet's captain Derek Bardwell teamed with Steve Hurworth to lead the ball competition on 41 points; they were followed by Bert Newman and Bill Murray 40 and Gai Falla and Sally Higgins also scoring 40 points.
The nearest-to-the-pins were won by Sally Higgins at the 4th and 15th holes; Graham Hjorth and Dale Rabbett did the job at the 6th and 15th holes.
The individual event in conjunction was won by Brian McInnes with a score of 38 points followed by Phil Patterson, Mike Howard and Bill Murray each on 37 points.
The veteran's event on Tuesday January 19 is a stroke and putting competition sponsored by Marg and Brian McInnes with Anne and John Herd sponsoring an individual Stableford the following Tuesday January 26.
