Thursday bowls proved that time away from the game and living out of the esky was beneficial for Jason Casidy who combined with Craig Yates to inflict a heavy defeat on Tony Tersteeg and Neville Atkins 33-16, Kevin Burley, Stephen Hurworth and Ken Bryant producing form from the past defeated Steve Brown, Col Beattie and Charlie Faulkner 31-25, Lu Urby, Peter Bignell, Nigel McIntosh defeated John Andrews, Terry Higgins, Alex laurie 23-19, Robert Hayes, George Wisemantel, Robbie Bowden defeated Steven Higgins, Brian Holstein, Norm McLeod 23-18, Kevin Everett, Jim Henderson, Paul Sheridan narrowly defeated Andrew Henderson, Vic Hebblewhite, Terry Davies 22-19 and in a drawn game Gary Spokes, Terry Carson, Chris Pritchard had a 22 all draw with Peter Jones, Mike Sheely and Graham Holstein.

Saturday a field of sixteen participated with Andrew Henderson and George Wisemantel taking the cake over Mr consistent Neville Atkins and Peter Sansom 30-15, Ian Percival (visitor) and Terry Davies proved too strong for Vic Hebblewhite and Steve Kriss 30-23, Nico Duynhoven, Alex Laurie who was never far from the kitty defeated Mike Sheely and Ken Bryant 21-16 and Col Hebby and Don Meheiloff got on top early and never let Lu Urby and Bob Jones into the game winning 22-13.
Mixed bowls- Saturday morning saw a dismal combination from John Andrews and Di Lockwood (time for new bowls or a new advisor John) when Kevin Everett spoilt the party taking shots away from the opposition combining with Julie Kriss to win the day 26-14, Jean Holstein, Stephen Hurworth, Patty West accounted for Jill Everett, Judy Sheely and Alex Laurie 22-11 and in the remaining close game Mike Sheely and Joy Hurworth drew 19 all with Joan Ridgeway and Steve Kriss.
A pennant trial will be played against Taree West at Taree on Friday 22 January commencing play at 6pm and the teams are on the notice board so if you have not ticked your name off please do ASAP so reserve players can be organised.
Australia Day bowls will be played at 2pm on 26 January with both ladies and men welcome and fun prizes will be the order of the day so get the "Aussie Aussie Aussie" gear out and enter your name on the board.
