Gloucester Bowling Club saw a field of 36 players looking for pennant practice on Thursday with the team of Kevin Everett, Mike Sheely and Charlie Faulkner playing top quality bowls to inflict a heavy defeat on Lu Urby, George Wisemantel and Jim McIntosh by 31-13.

John Andrews, Graham Turnbull and Don Meheiloff also found form to defeat Mark Groves, Stephen Hurworth and Alex Laurie 24-21.
Robert Hayes, Terry Carson and Steve Kriss came home strong to defeat Kevin Burley, Col Beattie and Ken Bryant 21-16.
Andrew Henderson, Terry Higgins and Chris Pritchard collected three shots on the last three ends to account for Gordon Pritchard, Neville Atkins and Doug Barron 18-16.
Peter Jones, Rob Heininger and Paul Sheridan were too strong for "Posty" alias John Kay, Vic Hebblewhite and Robbie Bowden winning 21-15.
And Tony Tersteeg, Gary Spokes and Terry Davies defeated Steve Brown, Brian Holstein and James Davison 24-10.
Grades two and six travelled to Taree West on Friday for a pennant trial under lights but the Gloucester boys may have performed better without lights going down in both grades to the West teams and another pennant trial has been organised against Wingham on 6 February so please contact a selector if you are unavailable.
Mixed Bowls: Saturday morning bowls proved how valuable a good lead is when Joan Ridgeway played the perfect leads game to make life easy for Del Buckton and George Wisemantel to defeat Bev Murray, Di Pritchard and Stephen Hurworth 30-6, Kevin and Jill Everett combined with Di Lockwood to defeat Mike Sheely, Joy Hurworth, Judy Sheely 24-11 and Nico Duynhoven, Julie Kriss, Ken Bryant had a narrow win 20-17 over Jean Holstein, Chris Pritchard and Steve Kriss.
There has been a change of plans for the Australia Day bowls due to weather predictions with a barbecue at 5pm followed by a game of mixed bowls for all standards with the best Aussie uniform and novelty prizes on offer.
