The not-for-profit preschool and early years learning centre was on the list of successful centres in the Upper Hunter electorate to receive funds from the Quality Learning Environments (QLE) grant.
It's welcome news for director, Elizabeth Price as it's all part of the school's sustainability policy.
"There will be less water used in a flush and sensor taps, which only activate when needed," Elizabeth said.
"Not only will it use less water, it improves health and hygiene as there is no contact with the taps."
The plan is to completely renovate the original children's bathroom in the original building which was constructed in 1972.
Over the years, the preschool has added onto the main building and built an entirely new structure, but the original preschool room has virtually remained the same.
"The toilets are so old we can't find spare parts for them anymore," Elizabeth said.
The bathroom consists of three toilets and hand-washing sinks for children aged three to five years.
These will simply be replaced with newer, more efficient models.
"It's all part of our continual improvement so that our community rural services continue to exceed the national quality standards."
The grants were provided to not-for-profit community and mobile preschools and not-for-profit long day care services with funding of up to $15,000 available to purchase resources and activities which improve physical or educational learning environments.
Funds can be used to make improvements to physical spaces by enhancing the quality of the grounds and buildings of services or to provide specialised educational programs for children to address identified educational needs.
As well as Gloucester Pre-school, member for Upper Hunter Michael Johnsen also announced the following centres in the electorate were also successful:
Aberdeen Pre-School Association Inc, Singleton Heights Pre-School Inc, Denman Children's Centre Association Inc, Clarence Town Pre-School, Dungog Community Pre-School Kindergarten Inc, Muswellbrook Child Care Centre Inc, Paterson Valley Community Pre-School Inc, Goodstart Early Learning Muswellbrook, Murrurundi Pre-School Inc, Muswellbrook Pre-School Kindergarten and Colleen Gale Children's Centre.
