St Joseph's Primary School Gloucester had five swimmers at the Manning Regional Catholic Primary School swimming carnival and all of them qualified for the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese Primary swimming carnival.

The small school once again hosted the large event on Wednesday February 10 at the Gloucester pool. Swimmers from the St Joseph's in Taree, Wingham, Bulahdelah, plus Holy Name Catholic Primary School Forster attended the event. Year 11 and 12 students from the Vocational Education Training (VET) Sport Coaching course at St Clare's High School in Taree also came over to help with timekeeping.
Aiden Blanchard, Ruby Blanchard, Mia Barner, Xanthe Fenning and Rory Ashby did Gloucester St Joey's proud with their achievements.
Aiden qualified for the 12 years 50 metre freestyle, 12/13 yrs 50m breaststroke and the 12/13 Yrs 50m butterfly. Ruby qualified for the 11 years 50m breaststroke. Xanthe qualified for the 10 years 50m freestyle. Rory qualified for the junior 50m breaststroke.
But that's not all, the replay team consisting of Mia, Aiden, Xanthe and Rory Ashby also qualified for the PP5 event.
The Diocese carnival takes place on Thursday, February 25 in Newcastle.
