Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Krambach last night after reports that a man had been crushed by a bull.

Around 9pm on Wednesday February 24, New South Wales Ambulance (NSWA) tasked the helicopter service to a property at Krambach, south west of Taree.

It's reported that a 74-year-old man had sustained multiple leg fractures when he was crushed by a bull he was loading onto a trailer.

The man was treated on scene by NSWA paramedics before he was transported by ambulance to rendezvous with the helicopter which landed near the Krambach township.

The Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team stabilised the man before he was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

The man was in a stable condition.
