The Stroud Show is set to return this month and not only is it the only show in the Mid Coast region to proceed at this stage, it's also due to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Gates open at the newly upgraded Stroud Showground on Friday April 9 with the event to continue on Saturday April 10.
There promises to be acres of activities, entertainment, arts and craft exhibits, and eccentric contests across the two-day event. From the fence post splitting competition, Ute muster, wife carrying competition, and demolition derby to traditional produce, arts and crafts, the show has something for everyone.
In the show ring, equine enthusiasts can enjoy stallions, colts, mares and fillies compete in various disciplines. Around the grounds, there will be a showcase of livestock along with products and produce from the Stroud Valley region and beyond.
The boutique home brew contest boasts 10 categories for the home brewer to enter with the experimental category offering brewers the chance to toy with a range of unique flavours including vegetable and fruit based beers.
The interesting and unusual wife carrying competition will see a cohort of wives, sisters and female friends join their male team mate on a hazardous but hilarious journey.
Clinging on for dear life, each team must race through 80 metres of sand, take on a hay blockade and wade through a paddling pool. There will be also be a junior course.
Children will be entertained throughout the day with fun activities, an animal nursery, Troppo Magic show and amusement rides.
While the show will be offering a lot of the old-time favourites, due to COVID things will be a run a little different. Rules require pre-purchased tickets, social distancing and a cap on visitor numbers.
Entry fee on Friday April 9 for adults is $11.64 and Saturday April 10 it's $22.19
All children 16 years and under are free, but must hold an Eventbrite ticket to enter the Stroud Show.
