Norm McLeod, Ken Bryant and Graham Turnbull narrowly defeated Stephen Hurworth, Don Meheiloff, Robert Hayes 23-22, Vic Hebblewhite and Steve Brown had more wicks than a worn out primus on their way to a comfortable win over George Wisemantel and Kevin Burley 25-13, Col Beattie, Paul Sheridan and Gordon Pritchard came from behind late in the game to defeat Steve Kriss, Charlie Faulkner and Andrew Henderson 25-22 and in a pairs event Neville Atkins and Terry Higgins went shot for shot all day against John Andrews and Clive Redman with a draw being the perfect result.
Saturday mixed bowls saw a small field turn out with Stephen Hurworth, Julie Kriss and Di Lockwood winning the day 23-12 over Steve Kriss, Joan Ridgeway and Joy Hurworth and in a pairs game Max Stevens and Karen Heininger had luck escape them going down to Jenny Stevens and George Wisemantel 22-9. Pennants resume on Saturday following the Easter break with the number two sides travelling to Harrington and the number seven teams are at home to Tuncurry Sporties and Sunday is the next round of the major singles and players are reminded to organise their own markers.
