Gloucester Athletics Club holds its presentation night for 2020/2021

Gloucester Athletics Club completed the 2020/2021 season recently and has held its presentation night at the end of term one.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, our season started later than normal and hence finished later; however we were able to complete 16 weeks of competition afternoons under strict COVID guidelines.

The club would like to acknowledge and thank all the athletes, families and volunteers that helped during the season. We had a great season with nine new club records set and numerous personal bests (PB).

Well done to the following athletes for setting new club records - Maddie Boorer (U7 equalled 50m), Justin Boorer (U10 Turbo and Discus), Mackenzie Young (U11 Discus and Javelin) Bradley Higgins (U11 Turbo and Javelin) and Jacob Wright (U11 Discus and Shot Put).

Main trophy winners on presentation night were: Under 6 Achievement Trophy - Lachlan Hamilton; 7,8,9 Track Award - Sebastian House (10PB); 7,8,9 Field - Zeus Genoli (11PB); 10,11,12 Track - Tie Eli Stuckings Mackenzie Young and Jacob Wright (7PB); 10,11,12 Field - Tie Charlie Coombe, Bride Baker, Jacob Wright (9PB); 13,14,15 Track - Kaitlyn Beggs (8PB) ; 13,14,15 Field - Kaitlyn Beggs (14PB) ; Senior Track and Field - Keely Yates; Junior Encouragement - Lucas Soper and Pharaoh Genoli; Senior Encouragement - Summer Edwards; Gloucester Rotary Award for Sportsmanship - Asher Baker and Club Person of the Year - Julie Clarke and Jane Richardson.

We have a short break and will be back on the track at the beginning of term three.
