She was among the athletes recognised at the Gloucester Sports Committee's sports awards held on Saturday May 8 at the Gloucester Soldiers Club.
As the annual event was cancelled last year due to COVID, the committee decided to combine the two years (2019 and 2020) worth of nominees, ensuring no one missed out.
Given the unusual situation and the continued COVID restrictions, the number of attendees, 140, was lower that in previous years.
According to committee member, Lorraine Forbes that is half the amount of people as normally attend.
"We hope to be back to normal next year," Lorraine said.
There was a new master of ceremonies. In the past, 2RE's Anthony Zanos has been at the podium but this year it was Brian Beesley.
The guest speaker was Australian former rugby league footballer of the 1970s and 1980s, Gavin Miller.
Five Local Legends were acknowledged for their involvement in Gloucester sport - Nancy Smith (netball), Daphne Wilson (women's bowls), Keith Tull (rugby league), John Relf (cricket and rugby league) and Bruce Moore (rugby league).
Other winners were:
Junior - Dean Germon (hockey)
Senior - Callum Howard (netball)
Veteran - Jason Cassidy (bowls)
Junior team - Gloucester Gems Netball Team and Gloucester Wingham 13s Hockey Team
Senior team - Grade 3 Men's Pennant Team (bowls)
Coach - Amy Schafer and Phil Moore
Match official - Tonia Channon
