Just one match was played last week at the Gloucester Women's Bowling Club. The team of Vera Whatmore, Cheryl West and Di Lockwood defeated Paula Standen, Joy Hurworth and Julie Kriss, 28-10. For the first 10 ends the teams were level, but Vera's team got a renewed spurt of energy and surged ahead for a resounding win.

The Grade 4 teams played in a play-off, as winners of section 2, against Taree Leagues. The day resulted in a loss for our ladies, although they played really well up until about fifteen ends and then Leagues managed to pull away. The final result was 46-34.
This week the club is a hosting venue at the State Carnival, with 14 teams playing from Monday to Wednesday, from all over NSW. It will be good for the club in giving us recognition as a friendly and welcoming place to play bowls.
