In the first round of the pairs championship Mick Butler and Tony Tersteeg lost the first end but were never worried afterwards against Don Meheiloff and Terry Davies winning 19-15. Lu Urby combined with the champion lead Vic Hebblewhite and only conceded seven ends to Kevin Everett and Mike Sheely winning 26-16. The reigning champions Allen Rose and Gordon Pritchard cruised to a 26-8 victory over Terry Higgins and Robbie Bowden. And in the remaining game Nico Duynhoven and Neville Atkins defeated Col Beattie and Steve Kriss 26-10.

The last round of pennants was played on Saturday with the number two sides having another victory over Harrington two rinks to one which secured the master board 56-52 for a 9 points to 1 victory. Unfortunately their season is over. The number seven sides travelled to Tuncurry Sporties and had a tough battle winning two rinks 29-15 and 23-22. But they lost the remaining rink 31-16 which got the hearts pumping until the last bowl for a 68 all draw on the master board. It was enough for Gloucester to secure a victory and now have a play off against the seven two side Pacific Palms to determine a position for a state title chance.
