It was a case of head and shoulders across the field for the two top B grade players in the Saturday May 22 Individual Stableford, sponsored by Knowla Stud. Taree's Michael Stinson amassed a six under par 42 ahead of local talent Jacob Pickworth two points further back on 40. Steve Burns also "done good" with an eagle 2 at the par-four 9th and 18th holes.

Once again it was a glorious autumn day with course conditions drawing compliments from a number of visitors in a modest sized field.
The winner in A Grade was Ben Veitch whose 36 points was a countback ahead of runner up Steve Williams also on 36 points. The stars were in B Grade with Michael Stinson from Taree 42 points clear of runner up Jacob Pickworth's 40 points.
The C Grade winner was Bert Newman 33 and Rick Paff was runner up a point behind on 32. In the ball competition balls went to Michael Stinson 42, Jacob Pickworth 40, Ben Veitch, Steve Williams and JoAnne Stinson 36 with Peter Wildblood, Paul Garland and Bert Newman picking up the last of the balls with 33 points.
Nearest-to-the-Pins were won by Paul Blanch, Brian Osborne and Paul Coote at the 4th and 13th holes and Steve Williams, Jacob Pickworth and Mitch Andrews at the 6th and 15th holes. Jacob Pickworth won the trophy for long drive at the 8th and 17th holes.
One of the great achievements of the day came from Steve Burns at the 9th and 18th holes where his second shot into the green ran straight into the hole to leave him not only winner of the prize for Nearest-to-the-Pin-in-Two on that hole but with the honour of picking up the club's Eagles Nest.
The Super Sevens for the week ending Friday May 21 was won by Jim Dunn well ahead of the pack with 19 points; balls went to Steve Yates and Rob Moore 17, Phil Paterson 16, Doug Blanch and Mark Howland 15 and Ken Kelly with 14 points.
Saturday next the club is hosting the Tom Blundell Memorial Four Person Ambrose and, with the booking sheet maxed out for several weeks now a tough and compelling contest is envisaged. The following week Saturday June 3, there is the Monthly Medal Individual Stroke competition sponsored by the Arkwood family.
