Chatham had strength in the centre, so Gloucester attempted to play around them but with a strong defence, the Panthers weren't able to get close to the goal at first.
Chatham were first to capitalise on a short corner, passing around the circle to get through for a goal. Gloucester were quick to respond in a lead from Harry Moore backed up from his father, Phil. A loose ball off the keepers feet allowed Dave Keen to tap it across the line to level the scoreline.
The second half remained just as tight, Chatham again scoring first from a nice play down the right side, to outnumber Gloucester defence. But again, the Panthers kept up pressure against the Wolves.
A cross from the right winger saw Dave again in open space and despite a clearing the way air swing, he was able to hit the ball into the back of the net. Chatham responded quickly with another goal.
Despite tight play, with only five minutes left on the clock, Gloucester was not able to level up the score a third time. The new junior boys, playing up in the men's grade are proving to be quite the asset, getting in and stepping up to the different level of game play.
Next week sees the Panthers face off against the Taree Tigers.
