Recent Festival of Place performances across the region have sparked a new exciting atmosphere for the main streets, with MidCoast Council organising free pop up musical events planned for at four locations during the long weekend.
"After an overwhelmingly positive response to the free Festival of Place gigs that were held across the Mid Coast, we're bringing four more live music gigs to our streets on Saturday June12, this time in Taree, Forster, Gloucester and Tuncurry," council's economic development coordinator, Robyn Brennan said.
Along with The Grasscutters in Gloucester, Matt Zarb will be performing at Blows Lane off Wharf Street in Forster, Hudson Rose outside Raw Sugar Café in Victoria Street in Taree, and Grace Callaghan outside the Tuncurry Post Office, South Street in Tuncurry.
"Free street gigs are a great opportunity to support local performers as they emerge from a difficult year - so come along to one of these main streets and really show your support for Mid Coast musicians," Robyn said.
"We're looking forward to seeing the performers spark some joy on Mid Coast streets this June long weekend."
All events are free and will kick off at 9.30am and finish up at 12.30pm.
"Any MidCoast businesses that want to activate their streets are more than welcome to get involved and host local performers as part of our Vibrant Spaces program," Robyn added.
If you're a local business that's keen to activate your space, please get in touch with our economic development team, phone 7955 7777 or email us at business@midcoast.nsw.gov.au.
