Last week the ladies played the semi-finals of the Major Singles for a place in the final. Jill Everett defeated Del Buckton, 25-11, and in the other match, which could have gone either way for a time, saw Judy Sheely persevering and managing to outwit Joan Ridgeway, with a win, 25-18. On Wednesday, July 7, the final will take place between Jill Everett and Judy Sheely - this should be a good match to watch, with this year having a new singles champion. Good luck to both of you.

Two close social games were also played, with Val Pritchard, Denise Redman and Ruth Redman defeating Lorraine Ratcliffe, Karen Heiningar and Jeanette Mumford, 18-13. In the other game, Judy Sheely and Colleen Atkins defeated Bev Germon and Julie Kriss, 15-14.
