The prize winners of Thursday bowls were John Andrews who was well supported by the two up and coming stars Ken Bryant and Paul Sheridan inflicting a 33-16 score line over Steve Brown, Nico Duynhoven and James Davison. Mike Sheely, Terry Davies and Neville Holstein gave George Wisemantel, Terry Carson and Chris Pritchard a similar bowls lesson only allowing them to win six ends for a 19-7 victory. And in a very social atmosphere on rinks one and two the visitors combined with a few locals when Terry and Stephen Higgins and Cleggy defeated Peter Jones, Jack and Pete 25-14. Mark, Alex (the unknown from Church Street) and Col defeated Youngy, Jason and Steve 20-19. Gordon Pritchard, Don Meheiloff, Robbie Bowden defeated Tony Tersteeg, Clive Redman and Norm Mcleod 29-22. Robert Hayes, Andrew Henderson, Alex Laurie defeated Kevin Burley, Brian Holstein and Kelso 18-13. In a close tussle Peter Sansom, Rob Heininger, Bob Jones and Graham Holstein defeated Kevin Everett, Stephen Hurworth, Mathew Higgins and Harry Cox 21-19.

On Saturday, Lu Urby and Dennis (the menace) Bartlett had a comfortable victory 26-17 over Mike Sheely and Anne Andrews to win the day. Chris Pritchard, Judy Sheely, Julie Kriss had a win over 'The Don', who revived his cricket days and drove shots to the opposition, and combined with Joan Ridgeway and Di Lockwood for a 22-20 loss. John Andrews and Joy Hurworth had a great tussle for a narrow 20-18 win over Stephen Hurworth and Alex Laurie and in the remaining match Steve Kriss, Di Pritchard defeated Del Buckton and Terry Davies 22-18 with George Wisemantel playing a swinging lead role for both teams.
The first round of the minor singles will commence on Saturday July 24 commencing at 1pm. The second round will be played on Sunday July 25 at 9.30am. Players are to arrange their own marker and the entries are open for the men's fours which will close on August 12.
