The smaller than usual field was a residual of the lockdown for those of the veterans who travelled to the Upper Hunter the previous week only to be sent home hours ahead of the local lockdown and told to self-isolate.
Some ventured out under special COVID-19 playing restrictions and some of the stay-at-homes elected to remain that way until the lockdown eased on Thursday August 12.
None of that stopped good scores being the order of the day for the veteran golfers sponsored Individual Stableford.
Glyn Rees turned in a great round of 40 stableford points although hi needed a count back to take the prize of the day from Kev Arney also scoring 40 points to top the list of ball winners.
Kev headed the list followed by Mark Stone 38, John Parish 35, and Derek Bardwell and Joost Werz both scoring 33 points.
On Tuesday August 17, the veteran golfers are playing a Four Ball Better Ball with and Individual Stableford in conjunction all of which is sponsored by Peter Ross and Dave Salmon.
The following week there is an Individual Stableford sponsored by Lorraine and John Clarke.
