The day itself was promising enough with clear skies and a warm day, although the state-wide lockdown clearly saw a number of regulars take the option to stay at home.
The event was an Individual Stableford sponsored by the veteran golfers. Joost took top honours with 37 Stableford points. He was closely followed by ball winners Trevor Sharp and Colin Ware, who scored 36 points apiece, ahead of Phil Hawkins and Glyn Rees each with 35 points.
On Tuesday August 24, the vets will be playing an Individual Stableford event sponsored by Lorraine and John Clarke followed on Tuesday August 31 by an Individual Stroke and Putting competition sponsored by Ros and Peter McIntyre.
