The Lower North Coast District Golf Association sponsored the golf at Gloucester Golf Club on Saturday, August 28. It was an event that attracted a good sized field playing in COVID restricted conditions. The results were steady if not outstanding with Ken Kelly best over the field.
The event was an Individual Stableford in three grades and the winner in A grade with 38 points was Ken Kelly; runner up was Mike Howard four behind on 34 points. In B grade the winner was John Parish with 37 points followed on 35 points by runner up Dave Mann. In C grade Paul Coote took top honours with his 37 points and runner up, Bill Mansfield had 34 points. Balls in the associated ball competition went to Ken Kelly 38; John Parish and Paul Coote 37; Dave Mann and Mick Young 35, Mike Howard, Brian McInnes, Jamie Andrews and Bill Mansfield 34; Paul Garland, Rick Paff and Mitch Andrews 33; and the final ball went to Ben Veitch on 32 points.
In what was a very busy Super Sevens week concluding Friday August 27, there were thirteen players finishing "in the money". The winner was Paul Coote with 19 points one ahead of top ball winners Joost Werz and Peter Markey each scoring 18 points. They were followed by Noel Cook and Dave Mann 16; and a rash of players all scoring a one-over-handicap-par 15 points: Kev Arney, Wayne Maddalena, Ken Kelly, Noel Cook, Ian Maggs, Ann Maggs, Pat Burrows and Chris Murray.
On Saturday September 4, the Arkwood family sponsor the Monthly Medal, an Individual Stroke event with the medal going to the best net score in any grade; there are also trophies for the best net and gross in each of the three grades. On Saturday September 11, there will be an Individual Stableford sponsored by "The Two Garrys"; Garry Cravino and Garry Randall.
