'The two Garrys' made the day possible with their sponsorship, Jamie Andrews and Mitch Andrews were best in A and C grade respectively and Rob Moore played well enough for two golfers for his B grade win.
In speaking of doing things in pairs, it is worth mentioning both that Jamie Andrews had a pair of eagle 3s at the par 5 eighth and seventeenth holes, and that Saturday was the last day of playing in pairs thanks to the NSW Government lifting the stay-at-home restrictions for the Mid Coast local government area. Let's hope it stays that way for all in our community, not just golfers.
The day was a wonderful sunny, almost cloudless day, reminiscent of early summer rather the early spring. The course is in wonderful condition albeit a tad on the dry side following the recent spell of clear weather, all of which no doubt contributing to the good scores and the thirty-eight players who turned out.
The scoring in the Individual Stableford was dominated by Rob Moore who scored 47 points for his win in B grade six points clear of his nearest rival in the grade, John Parish, who would had every right to think that his 41 points would have meant he had a win in the bag.
Jamie Andrews put in the best score in A grade with 39 points and eight-year-old Gloucester junior Mitch Andrews' 40 points not only topped his dad's 39 but gave him a win in C grade.
Balls were won in the associated ball competition by Rob Moore 47, John Parish 41, Mitch Andrews 40, Jamie Andrews 39, Kev Arney 38, Brian Osborne, Doug Blanch, R Pope 37, Steve Williams, Ken Kelly and Dave Mann 35, Mike Howard, Ben Veitch, Paul Blanch, Glenn Williams and Gary Cravino all scoring 34 points.
Super Sevens for the week ending Friday September 10 was won by Ian Maggs with a big seven-hole score of 20 points.
Balls were won by Jim Dunn 19, Phil Hawkins 18, Paul Coote, Glyn Rees and Dave Mann 17 and Steve Hurworth, Ken Kelly and Rob Moore 16.
On Saturday September 18, Gloucester Golf Club members will be playing an Individual Stableford sponsored by Bowe Lidbury.
