Saturday's golf at Gloucester Country Club saw another top score turned in by John Parish whose win in B grade was the outstanding round of the day.

The event was an Individual Stableford in three grades sponsored by Bowe and Lidbury. There were 40 players on day that began with open skies and temperatures in the low twenties but developing into a much warmer, cloudy and quite windy conditions for afternoon players.
The winner in A grade was club president, Wayne Maddalena with a score of 39 Stableford points. John Parish's round of 42 points was best overall as well as the top score in B grade and Paul Coote scored 38 points for his win in C grade.
Balls in the associated ball competition went to John Parish 42; Glenn Williams 40; Wayne Maddalena 39; Ben Veitch, Steve Clifford, a visitor from Club Taree Golf and Paul Coote 38; Brian McInnes, Nathan McInnes, Peter Wildblood and Bert Newman 37; Brian Osborne and Mark Stone 36; and Mick Young, Glyn Rees and Mitch Andrews 35, with the final balls going to Paul Garland and Derek Bardwell wo scored 34 points.
Super Sevens for the week ending Friday September 17 saw another big field of 28 golfers. Kev Arney's 20 points was good enough for a win by a single point from top ball winner Mick Young 19; he was followed by John Parish 17, Rob Moore 16 and Peter Buettel, Denver Webb, Pat Borrows and Evelyn Blanch all with scores of 15 points.
On Saturday September 25, the Gloucester blokes will be playing an Individual Stableford in three grades sponsored by Avon Valley Inn. The following week there will be the October Monthly Medal sponsored by the Arkwood family an event run in three grades with the medal going to the best net score across the field.
