Four deaths as NSW COVID-19 case number drops under 300 on October 24 2021

FOUR people have died with COVID-19 across NSW as the state's number of fresh cases improved slightly.

NSW cases fell below the 300 mark again on Sunday, with 296 infections detected in 24 hours on the back of more than 66,000 tests.

The first dose vaccination figure for people over 16 has ticked over 93 per cent, with full inoculation at 84.4 per cent for that demographic.

Figures on 12-16 year olds, who were the focus of a walk-in jab blitz this weekend, are expected to be released with regional breakdowns and other detailed data around 11am.

There are 480 people in hospitals with the virus, and 119 requiring intensive care.

There were no new international arrivals diagnosed with the virus.
