Nineteen new confirmed COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed in the Mid Coast Local Government Area (LGA) for the 24 hours to 8pm, Tuesday, November 16, which is the most in the Hunter New England Health District (HNEH) by 12 cases.

The Newcastle LGA was second in the HNEH District with seven cases.
Eight of the cases are from Taree, six from Wingham, two from Forster, one from Bootawa, one from Green Point, and one from Old Bar.
Hunter New England Population Health public health physician, Dr David Durrheim said testing is strongly encouraged across Lower Mid North Coast and New England.

The 19 new cases are included in the 44 cases for the HNEH District.
Nineteen are from Mid Coast LGA, seven are from Newcastle LGA, six are from Tamworth LGA, four are from Cessnock LGA, three are from Lake Macquarie LGA, two are from Port Stephens LGA, one is from Inverell LGA, one is from Maitland LGA and one is from Moree Plains LGA.
Ten were in isolation for their entire infectious period, 32 were infectious in the community, and two are still under investigation.
Thirty-two cases are linked to known exposures or clusters, 10 are unlinked, and the source of two cases is under investigation.
Fourteen of the total active cases are currently being cared for in hospital. Three are currently in ICU.
Chatham Public School, Wingham Public School and Old Bar Public School are closed today due to COVID cases.
