GLOUCESTER has again shown its overwhelmingly generous spirit by helping Steve Parkin raise $3280 as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.

Mr Parkin lost the goatee he has been growing for the past five years on Saturday with Milady Salon generously donating its services for the shave off.

Steve’s five-year-old grand-daughter Charlotte is currently undergoing treatment in a Brisbane hospital for leukaemia.

After the diagnosis Steve vowed to do what he could to help sufferers of the disease.

He said the support from the Gloucester public had been amazing - so much so that he also shaved off his eyebrows after receiving a $150 donation to do so.
