FORMER NBN news director Jim Sullivan will assist volunteers at Bucketts Radio to improve their on-air talents and abilities at a special workshop later this month.

The workshop will be held at the Bucketts Radio studios in the Majestic Arcade on Saturday, August 23 starting at 2pm.
Mr Sullivan will speak on topics including effectively using your voice, interviewing techniques and news reading.
Mr Sullivan has more than 40 years of experience in the media, starting out as a reporter and documentary producer before serving for 23 years as news director at NBN television.
His experience includes various forms of media including print, radio, TV and in advertising, public relations and journalism.
Mr Sullivan produced several public service programs at NBN including Drive Alive and Project Restart - promoting CPR.
He retired from NBN in July 2007 and is now heavily involved with the Gloucester-Great Lakes Rural Fire Service.
Bucketts Radio would like to invite interested members of the community to come and join the training with Mr Sullivan.
Anyone with an interest in improving their on-air skills or those that have thought about becoming a volunteer announcer at Bucketts Radio is welcome to come along.
The cost of the training is only $5. Afternoon tea will be provided and training materials supplied.
