Clocks will go forward one hour at 2am this Sunday, October 5. As always, there is plenty happening this long weekend in Gloucester.
Do not miss the annual country music hoedown on the banks of the beautiful Barrington River at Poley’s Place.
The 2014 line up includes Mandy Collins, Ken ‘Chainsaw’ Lindsay, Rob Breese, The Gibsons, Jason Carruthers and Gus Helm along with the Poley’s Place Band of Brian Quartermaine, Matthew Capper, Dennis Hiscock, Des Piper and Borris Bajric.
A brand new event for the region, the Wildside Adventure Race, kicks off in Forster this Saturday, October 4.
The five-day expedition race includes a 500km secret course incorporating parts of the Great Lakes, Greater Taree and Gloucester local government areas.
Participants can mountain bike, trek, paddle or even swim on their way to the finish line.
The Gloucester Lions Club car boot sale is a long weekend institution.

The popular community markets return this long weekend with stallholders selling a bounty of goodies at Billabong Park.
The markets kick off at 8am and run through until 12pm.
