Coordinator Brett Radford said numbers for the under 14s and under 16s competitions were extremely concerning.
“We desperately need numbers, particularly for the under 14s,” he said.
The under 16s will again contest the Manning region competition and Radford said he was reasonably confident Gloucester would field a competitive side.
“At this stage the under 16s look okay,” he said.
“For the under 14s, we’re asking kids that do want to play to turn up at number two oval at 8.30am this Saturday (October 11).
“That will give us a feel for numbers and we’ll hopefully be able to divide the players to make up some sides and go from there.”
Milo Cricket will be held at the swimming pool field from 9am with players registering on the day while Kanga Cricket also starts at 9am at Farley Gates Oval.
- NOWENDOC will make its long-awaited return to the ranks of the Gloucester District Cricket Association this Saturday.
It has been about three decades since Nowendoc last played in the competition. The Nowendoc side replaces Mount George with the draw remaining a five-team competition.
The club, nicknamed the Bushrangers, will play Soldiers Club Colts in the opening round of the season on number one oval.
Over on number two oval, reigning premiers Rawdon Vale take on the Top Pub Cavaliers. Stroud has the opening round bye.
Teams will contest three rounds of five matches this season with finals to begin on March 7. Matches start at 12.45pm sharp.
