Both have been accepted to study their chosen university courses, with main round offers released by the Universities Admission Centre last Wednesday.
Teigan has received two offers, a bachelor of bio-med at the University of New England in Armidale and a bachelor of science at Newcastle University.
“At this stage I’m leaning more towards Newcastle,” Teigan said.
“Armidale’s slightly further and in Newcastle I’ll be living with my Nan which is going to be cheaper for me.”
Teigan has spent the past few months since finishing school at Gloucester High working at Riverwood Downs.
She was offered the chance to pursue a chef’s apprenticeship at the resort but has turned it down in favour of continuing her studies at university.
“I like that university is something different. There are new things to experience and there’s the unknown factor,” she said.
Sophie, who will spend the next six years completing a double degree in vet bio and vet science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga, says the chance to meet new people is an exciting prospect.
“I think I’m most looking forward to meeting like-minded people who share similar interests and goals,” she said.
Sophie will live on campus in a self-contained villa for the first year of her studies.
Her first week of university begins on February 21 while Teigan’s kicks off two days later.
