We had approximately 15 riders on the day and they rotated in the morning between flat work with Ross Green and Team Penning with Bruce Snape.
With Ross’s help the riders practiced show workouts and etiquette as well as making their horses more responsive.
In the afternoon the riders changed between team penning with Bruce and novelty events with Howard Shultz.
This is the first time Gloucester pony club members have been offered team penning instruction and certainly won’t be the last judging by the enjoyment the riders got out of it.
Bruce did a great job teaching the kids the rules and introducing them to the sport. It was also great to see one of our life members, Joy Guy out watching the children.
We would like to say a big thank you to Ross Green and Bruce Snape for all their help at our instruction day, you both made it a wonderful day. A big thank you also to Howard, Nick, Neville, Chris and Greg for all their help as always.
Our next instruction day August 28 is a ribbon day, anyone wanting to come along and watch our fantastic Pony Club members are more than welcome, please contact Howard Shultz for any info 6558 7400.
