Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said the Community Presenter Touring program will provide grants to support staging performances in regional towns that don’t have a professionally run performing arts venue.
“These grants will help community presenters bring professional NSW productions to regional community-run venues throughout NSW, such as the local Town Hall or footy club, which might otherwise not be financially viable,” Mr Grant said.
“By bringing quality and entertaining performances to smaller regional NSW communities, this program provides people with access to a range of arts and cultural experiences, no matter where they live.”
Community presenters can apply for a grant to cover up to 50 per cent of the performance fee for a touring production, from $500 to $2,500 per venue capped at $7,500.
Community presenters are individuals or organisations that contract, organise, manage and promote touring performances at community-run performance venues.
The Community Presenter Touring Grants program is administered by Arts On Tour on behalf of Arts NSW. Applications for the first round are now open and close on Tuesday September 20.
