Jeff Jennings and the Terras family, Lamont, Evette and James, are heading to Wagga Wagga from Sunday, September 25 to Friday, September 30. It’s part of the International Field Archery Association’s calendar.
It’ll be Jeff's third time competing, his first time was 1990. He’s been involved in archery for 36 years and will be shooting in the veterans class. As for the Terras family, this will be their first time. Lamont’s competing in the men’s senior division, Evette in the women’s senior and James in the juniors.
All entrants have qualified through their results from State and national competitions over the year. There’ll be five full days of competition, with 28 targets a day and four arrows per target using a point based system. The distances vary from 10 metres to 80 metres. Jeff said with four arrows hitting four bulls-eyes over the 28 targets, the highest points you could earn would be 560.
