A SURFER has been bitten on the foot and arm by a great white shark while surfing at Seven Mile Beach, Booty Point near Foster this morning (December 1).

The man, 65, was surfing near the Ruins campground at Pacific Palms when he was attacked about 9.10am.
There are reports his surfboard was bitten in half.
The man suffered puncture wonds to his foot and arm and was being treated by paramedics.
The shark is believed to be a great white and was estimated at between 2.5m and 3.5m long.
The Hunter Westpac rescue helicopter was enroute at 9.45am.
NSW Police have said Seven Mile Beach will be closed until further notice.
