“I love it. Can’t wait for the next one.”
He also won first place in the over 90 kilograms Novice section. Not bad for his first time.
Brendon took part in five events on Saturday, January 21 - log press, 240 kilogram yolk walk, atlas stone, dead lift and truck pull.
The truck pull was his favourite event, where he pulled a 10.5 tonne Kenworth prime mover.
“It’s pretty easy once you get going,” he said.
He did admit there was a tricky bit on the course, on Peel Street, where there was a slight incline on the road. “If you stopped, you’d roll back.”
According to Brendon, the other competitors in his division only made it halfway, with Brendon being the only one to finish.
He’s already planning for the next event to be held in Sydney in March.
