James and Ted Laurie from Knowla Livestock near Gloucester, Bill Dwyer from Gloucester and John Skidolph from Bulahdelah offered up the proceeds from a recent cattle sale to help farmers near Dunedoo.
James and Ted brought six weaner steers, Bill and John brought one each, to the Gloucester EU sale at the Gloucester Saleyards on Thursday, March 9.
All proceeds from the auction of the animals has been donated to the Merriwa-Sir Ivan Bushfre Appeal.
The appeal was established to assist landholders and residents affected by the devastating Sir Ivan fire that burned around 50,000 hectares of land, destroyed more than 30 homes and killed thousands of livestock.
Many other community members have been lending their support.
Customers have been purchasing bails of hay from the Norco Rural store, which will be loaded up and taken to the farmers in the effected area. Denell Transport has volunteered their service to deliver the load, due to leave shortly.
These are only a few of the stories of kindness and generosity shown by the Gloucester community to a fellow farming community.
