With Gloucester Chill Out Festival taking place on July 22, organisers are asking the community’s knitters, crocheters and stitchers to start planning their designs.
The competition is all about creating beautiful headwear, which could be either a hat, cap or beanie, in the spirit of the Chill Out Festival.
Categories are: The Aussie Travellers, Sung as a Bug and Make it Fun with Odds and Ends.
Prizes will be given for: best overall headwarmer - hand knitted or crochet prize; best overall headwarmer - felt or other material; and people’s choice headwarmer award.
There’s a new category this year for making a cushion, where entrants can create a cushion for any purpose, made out of any medium.
The judging will take place before Chill Out, with all entries to be on display at the Country Women’s Association (CWA) Hall during the festival.
The winners will be announced on the day.
The competition is a fundraising event, where all the proceeds are donated to both the Gloucester Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer support groups.
For information about the competition or entry forms visit Gloucester Town and Country store on Denison Street or visit the Gloucester Business Chamber website at http://www.gloucesterchamber.com.au/ to download a form.
