Group J – Country Labor

The Country Labor team is strong on skills and experience and is determined to fairly represent and be accountable to all of the people of MidCoast Council.

The team was chosen because of its extensive financial experience, strategic business skills and commitment to the community. With experienced councillors from both Greater Taree City Council and Great Lakes, it is well placed to ensure council effectively and fairly serves the MidCoast region whilst keeping spending within budget.

Country Labor wants to see this region and its people prosper and enjoying all that the area can offer.

Dr David Keegan - Pampoolah

David is a General Practitioner and was a GTCC councillor for eight years. He works tirelessly for better community health services and has an insight into the financial workings of council. He and his wife share a lifelong commitment to social justice.

Claire Pontin – Hallidays Point

Claire is a former General Manager with 30 years’ experience in financial analysis, business development and governance. She is a dragon boat paddler, and a community, environmental and social justice campaigner.

John Weate - Tuncurry

John is CEO of a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in setting up social enterprises. He was a GL Councillor for 25 years. John works to help people suffering from economic and social disadvantage.

Gaye Tindall – Green Point

Gaye is a retired graphic designer and business owner. She advocates for women’s and human rights, is a leader in business and conservation and advocates for her community.

Graham Robinson – Cape Hawke

Graham is a former engineer and Naval Officer. He is passionate about education and renewable energy and volunteers with Marine Rescue to keep his community safe.

Louise Collins - Nabiac

Louise is a retired teacher and Secretary of Nabiac Neighbourhood Centre. She is an experienced manager and a local community activist.
