Gloucester Community Health diversional therapist, Sue Tripney said that the day had been a great success.
“Community members and the centre’s aged care residents embraced the sunshine and the event, turning up in numbers to enjoy the day’s festivities,” she said.
It was an opportunity the activities centre men’s group and residents from Kimbarra, Narraweema and Hillcrest to reminisce, catch up with lifetime friends and make new ones.
There was a display of vintage and modern cars and motorbikes, including a1955 Norton motorcycle (owned by Albert Blanch), 1971 Ducati Shotgun (David Kirk), 1972 V12 E Type Jaguar (Allen and Gloria Parish), 1959 FC Holden station wagon Geoff and Felicity Hawkins), 1973 HX V8 Kingswood (Albert Rumbel), Honda Valkyrie (Ian Parkes), BMW 800GS (Mark Lukas) and a Ducati Multi Strata Enduro (David Kirk). Staff member, Elizabeth Townsend brought in her Ducati Monster.
Local Brian McIntosh displayed and spoke about some of the gems and rocks he has gathered through his passion for rocks, which has spanned more than 50 years.
“I want to thank staff who helped to organise this day and especially those community members willing to display their vehicles,” Ms Tripney said.
“Everybody had a fantastic day.”
