Put a mathematical problem in front of him and he gets a sparkle in his eye. This enjoyment in maths has seen Quinlan develop in his understanding over the last two years.
He has achieved excellent results in the Australian Problem Solving Maths Olympiad competitions that GPS participates in each year with their high achieving Stage 3 maths students.
Now, he has just received news that another accolade is heading his way.
He has won the Great Lakes District Award for year 6 in the recent Newcastle Permanent Primary Mathematics Competition. Quinlan will head down to Newcastle for the formal presentation function in November to receive his award and prize money.
The mathematics competition helps children develop their numeracy and problem-solving skills.
