Entries are beginning to flow in and, if past numbers are an indication, we can expect upwards of 110 players to be taking to the courts for both singles and doubles events. Traditionally, players come from far and wide to play in the Gloucester tournament – Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Central Coast, Tamworth, Armidale, Gunnedah and many Sydney suburbs will be represented. Many of the players have been coming to this tournament for years, citing Gloucester as one of the most friendly and scenically beautiful towns they visit.
Local club members are invited to enter and show our visitors what country players can do! Entry forms are available at the clubhouse or from Di Mansfield and Lorraine Forbes. And, for those members thinking they may not be old enough to play seniors, an age of 35+ will qualify!
Once again the club thanks its sponsors who so readily support all tournaments. IGA, Gloucester Bowling Club and Darrel’s Gourmet Butchery are the major sponsors for our tournaments this year, while Foodworks, Adams Upholstery, Tamsin’s at the Roundabout, Gloucester Soldiers Club, Webb Bros, Townsend Electrical, Hebby’s Bakery and Gloucester Country Club have been generous with their contributions. The tournaments could not run without the generous support of these businesses.
