The men, aged 28 and 22, were arrested after a prolonged investigation by police into counterfeit $50, $20 and $10 notes.
It is alleged the 28-year-old used computer equipment to produce counterfeit $50 notes which were then passed off as legitimate currency.
The man is alleged to have attended establishments in the Raymond Terrace, Maitland, Newcastle and Hexham areas during January where he used the counterfeit notes to purchase items.
His 22-year-old co-accused is alleged to have attended establishments in the Heatherbrae, Belmont and Wingham areas where he also purchased items with the counterfeit notes.
Police used CCTV footage to identify and later charge the two men.
The 28-year-old man will appear at Taree Court charged with offences including making counterfeit money and nine counts of using counterfeit money.
His 22-year-old co-accused will also appear at Taree Court charged with four counts of using counterfeit money.
